This Labor Day, you can again run to support the ministry of the Micah Project!
The Labor of Love 5K/1mile event was first organized for many years in Saint Louis by the amazing Tiffanie Upshaw and her faithful team. This year, we'll once again be uniting virtually on Labor Day weekend from different states and countries around the world, using the "It's Your Race" app (search "IYR Virtual") to upload results and photos. You can participate by registering and sharing your run with us via the app and on social media with #MicahLaborOfLove. We're so excited about this opportunity to encourage one another as we support and send our love to the vulnerable population of street-connected youth in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, including the boys and young men of the Micah House, Timothy House, and Micah Works.
The Micah community in Honduras will be running on September 4th as well, and they look forward to being a part of this event. Now more than ever, we all want to remember that we are a part of something bigger than what we see around us, and that none of us is alone. We continue to celebrate the freedom that we have to continue to get outside and walk or run, whether it's in one's neighborhood, a local park, or on the Micah Project property in Tegucigalpa!

HOW DOES THIS WORK?
REGISTER FOR THE RUN
Click the "Register Now" button above to register for the run online for a $20 donation (plus processing fees) for the 5K run/walk or a $15 donation (plus processing fees) for the Kids' One-Mile Fun Run.
REQUEST A T-SHIRT
In order to save money, we didn't order a specific new shirt for the race this year, but we have shirts left from the last few years' races in various sizes, as well as Micah logo tshirts! If you'd like to see if we have one in your size, just email Becca Bell at bells@micahprojecthonduras.org, and she'll let you know. There would be no additional cost on the race registration for the shirt - simply let Becca know that you've sent a donation of any amount in for it to the Micah Project.
There is also a new option to go to https://cafepress.com/micahprojectgifts and order a shirt that you like, and wear that the day of the race!

RUN OR WALK
Once you've registered and have the app on your phone, you can use it to log your 5K run/walk any time during Labor Day weekend: decide if Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday works best for you! (Post a photo from your run on the app too, so that we can celebrate with you!)
VERY IMPORTANT - SET LOCATION SETTINGS TO YOUR PHONE TO "always" FOR THE It's Your Run APP, OR IT WILL NOT RECORD YOUR RUN IF YOUR LOCK SCREEN GOES ON! Ask us how to do this, if you don't know!
More specifically: Registered participants can run this virtual race event starting any time AFTER SEPTEMBER 1, 2020, at 12:00 a.m. Registration for this event will close on SEPTEMBER 4th at 10:00 p.m. All registrants must run their virtual race by 11:59 p.m. on SEPTEMBER 4th. After that, time submissions will no longer be posted to the results.
